About the Artist

So what's with your handle/username?

Weirdo (pictured above) was a character I came up with in middle school, a kind of parody superhero. I hated how seriously every superhero took themselves, so I made one who didn't (by then, I hadn't heard of Deadpool, much less The Boys). As I grew up, I realized that refusing to take yourself seriously is a kind of superpower on its own, so I adopted Weirdo as my online avatar. I added the "Time" because I thought it sounded cool (like, "Look out, it's Weirdo time!")

So who are you, really?

My real name is Griffin Hanosh. I'm one of a million other artists who likes to draw anime and game characters, as well as OC's (original characters). After art school almost killed my passion for drawing, I mostly pursue it as a hobby.

So why do you draw?

Like most artists, I draw because it's fun. My favorite part is getting a character's movement or expression down just right. I also sometimes draw what I'm feeling at the moment (my moodier pieces come from those times).

Can't AI draw anime girls better than you?

Debatably. But so what? I draw for fun, and AI can't take that away from me. Besides, is stealing other people's IP through fanart really that much better?

But don't you hate AI?

I do, but I think laughing at something does more damage than crying about it.
